BIOGRAPHY
Professor Rob Miller is the Director of the Whittle Laboratory and the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre at Cambridge. He is known for his pioneering work on Rapid Technology Development, which has led to R&D times being reduced from years to months.
Currently, he is building the New Whittle Laboratory, a Disruptive Innovation Lab designed to embed fast feedback between cutting-edge science and its emerging application.
In 2014, Professor Miller established and led the UK EPSRC Centre of Doctoral Training in Gas Turbine Aerodynamics.
He also founded the Aviation Impact Accelerator, an international group of experts dedicated to creating evidence-based tools to raise ambition and drive action toward achieving net zero aviation. He is a member of the UK Department for Transport’s Science Advisory Council.
A Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Professor Miller’s research has been awarded the American Society of Mechanical Engineers highest award in the field, The Gas Turbine Award, four times.
