Since it’s beginning and surely with the advent of mass transportation the aviation industry has been at the heart of our society as a key enabler to connect and protect people. However, the world changed a lot in the last 125 years of aviation and as such the industry had to adapt, evolve and overcome many challenges to cope with the world's expectations and needs. The art of propelling an aircraft has always been one of the biggest and the most complex part of this industry, encompassing a dense concentration of technologies, expertise, skills and passion to make aircraft fly faster, cheaper, safer and with the best environmental footprint possible. Now more than ever, those challenges remain of crucial importance and the whole Engineering Community is in motion to prepare the propulsion systems of tomorrow. This is enabled through a close collaboration of all involved actors, from academics to industry, not forgetting research establishments, regulators, environmental experts or researchers, benefitting from all the available past experience and expertise but also relying on the new technology, skills and - most importantly- views and creativity from the next generations. In 2026, ISABE aims at being a key actor in these stakes by dedicating its next international conference to this necessary cross-generational, cross-organisational collaboration. Happening in Mumbai, known for being a talent pool with regards to Engineering core and new competences, this next forum will be a unique opportunity to have a clear look at this multifaceted fascinating challenge and meet with leaders from the Propulsion ecosystem coming from all around the world.
