Aviation sustainability and technological levers (18-21 Sep 2024)
Description
The concept of aviation sustainability could result in breakthroughs in the design of aircraft and propulsive systems. Together with climate and energy issues, this idea will also strongly influence the general organization of commercial aviation. This course will thus discuss the environmental issues for aviation and the role of technological levers. Both climate and energy issues are addressed, including CO 2 and non-CO 2 effects as well as the impacts of climate change on aviation. The role of technological levers, such as gas turbine efficiency and alternative energy carriers (SAF, H 2 ), is analyzed with a careful estimation of their potentials and limits.
What you will learn
This training is primarily intended for engineers and managers in the aerospace sector who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of aviation sustainability. When completing the course, the delegate will be able to evaluate the role of key technological levers to mitigate the environmental footprint of aviation and to consider their potential in the design of innovative scenarios for the sector. He/she will also develop skills to analyze the relevance of different technical solutions to minimize the climate impact of aviation and its consequences, on a rigorous scientific basis.
